Pedro or Pedrim (as everyone knows him) is the kind of guy that is always ready, not only as a professional need but also to live life with love. A full time trained rescue sailor and a lifeguard, he is the guy you wanna have close to you when the swell and waves are too big. With an easy smile on his face and a huge pride of being born on the island, Pedrim represents the azorean lifestyle, where the ocean is an everyday part of life.
Who are you?
I’m a small electric young man, who loves life and the pleasure of living.
How’s life on the Island?
Life on the island is relaxing, the quality of life on this small piece of land is quite satisfying, nature is its fortress and beauty.
Favorite place?
My favorite place is at the sea, it’s where I’m happy and it stabilizes my emotions.
Hobbies?
Bodyboarding and everything that involves sliding in the waves, spearfishing, boxing, football, walking in nature.
Favorite object?
Sunglasses, because it protects and gives style.
One song / one band
I listen to several kinds of music, but lately this sound has been making me vibrate before and after surfing - Windhand - Forest Clouds.
What’s been keeping busy?
My job as a lifeguard sailor and winter swells.
A unique moment in your life?
The trip I made to Hawaii in 2017, to compete in the "Mike Stewart Pipeline Invitational" and managed to reach 9th. It was a unique and amazing experience to have the privilege to compete in such a desired line up only with 3 more riders (luck me I have managed to repeat the experience 3 times), warm water, perfect waves and compete with the best of the world in a mythical place.
If you could pick two people (alive or dead) one to surf with and one to have dinner or conversation, who would they be? Why?
If I had that opportunity, I would like to surf with Ryan Hardy on a classic day in Areais beach, and for dinner I would bring my babe because she lives far away.
What haven’t we asked you?
I am grateful to have had people, friends and family who introduced me to Bodyboard and that motivated me to continue. I had unique experiences that made me a better human being.
LOVE LIVE LIFE. BE YOU.
